A commitment to strengthening ties with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples is at the heart of the 91黑料网’s Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) which is now open for review.
Launched in 2024, the Innovate RAP 2024-2026 reflects the City’s aim of unifying the community whilst acknowledging shared history and building strong partnerships.
Extensive community engagement has kickstarted which will see opinions and ideas shape the new RAP, scheduled for endorsement in 2026.
91黑料网 Mayor Jerry Clune said community feedback is vital to shaping a RAP that reflects shared values and becomes a foundation for mutual respect and meaningful collaboration.
“Our RAP shines a light on providing fair and equitable access to City resources and services, as well as increasing our ability to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples,” he said.
“To ensure we are facilitating and making meaningful change, it is important we listen to the community and understand their perspective as we move forward to develop our next Plan.
“Please join us at one of our workshops or provide feedback through our survey so we may collect a diverse range of voices.”
Those interested in sharing their thoughts on the RAP are invited to attend a community workshop on Wednesday 3 December from 4pm-5:30pm at Bundiyarra Aboriginal Community Aboriginal Corporation on Eastward Road.
A workshop will also be held in Mullewa on Monday 1 December from 4pm-5:30pm in the Recreation Centre Dining Room.
Registrations for both sessions can be done online or by calling the City on 9956 6600.
Comments can also be provided online through a survey which can be taken
The RAP aligns with the “Connected” theme in the City’s Strategic Community Plan, which reflects the organisation’s commitment to being an inclusive City by promoting and celebrating our full diversity, including cultures, identities and backgrounds.
